Comix Cart is a mobile comics display programme. Six creative units are invited to install their comics works on the cart. There are six phases in the series with different stories and themes especially designed for children, including nostalgic games, living creatures and nature, adventure, spiritual communication, dream realization, and slice of life etc. Comics artists and illustrators will take turns to decorate the cart with the featured theme. The cart will be on display at the Public Open Space for one month, telling stories to young readers and their families via games on weekends.

For the third Comix Cart display, the story begins from 4.6 billion years ago in the footsteps of ancient creatures and dinosaurs. Cooperating with renowned comics artist Lee Kin-leung, the cart will present his trilogy Prehistoric Life, in which he spent six years to complete, from research to publication. Starting with the most primitive single cell “Archaebacteria”. Following the timeline, the series ventures into the periods of Cambrian, Triassic, Jurassic, Cretaceous etc, vividly showing the ancient creatures and dinosaurs in comic artworks. An encyclopedia of biology that one shouldn’t miss – the trilogy is all drawn by the artist himself, using watercolour to depict the rich biodiversity and make fossil animals come to life.

Meet and greet the artist at Comix Home Base! Little ones can listen to his stories and researches on palaeontology, and explore the creatures that we have never seen. Register online now and come to the workshop hosts by Lee Kin-leung on 25 November, have fun in science and art!

Meanwhile, young readers can bring along the comic books that they have read and put into the “Comix Mailbox”, to share the joy of reading. As part of the programme, Comix Home Base will hold a floating book fair on November 25, kids can take their favourite comic book home and pass it on.
