Comix Cart @Comix Home Base – Playing & Storytelling with Children Series 2

Date & Time:
15/09/2017 - 16/10/2017  From 10:00 am to 8:00 pm

Comix Cart is a mobile comics display programme. Six creative units are invited to install comics works on the cart. The six phases in the series will bring different stories and themes especially designed for children, including nostalgic games, hobby and adventure, intelligence and communication, creating dreams, pieces of life etc. Comics artists and illustrators will decorate the cart with the featured theme and display it at Public Open Space for one month. They will bring games and stories to young readers and their families during different weekends.

The second Comix Cart display invited two young artists – Jess & Kin-choi, showcasing their first children book Little Big Tram. The main character of the story is a classic tram 120 – “Siu Ding”. Siu Ding discovered that he is out of touch with the modern city. He is sick because of his sadness. After supported and encouraged by the public, he is cheered up and starts his journey again. Other than introducing this fascinating children story about the landscape of Hong Kong culture along Hennessy Road and telling the little readers to treasure the value of old things, we cooperate with an experienced group works for parent-child reading activity – Little Green Feet to organise an art workshop. Parents could bring their children to Comix Home Base on the last Saturday in September, and have fun in the group painting and tram creation activities.

The classic tram, Siu Ding, stops by the historical building, Comix Home Base. All parents and children can taste the nostalgia, together by listening to a hearty story, See you then! Meanwhile, young readers can bring along the comics book that they have read and put them into the “Comix Mailbox”, so that they can share and take the good comic books in the book floating programme.
