A double billed weekend performance in Dance and Theatre

A fantastic weekend of Swiss-ness with entertainment as well as encouragement to find our muse in life reflection, spurring one to shake off shackle and fight for one’s dreams.

To give a taste of Swiss arts and culture before the double bill performances, the Hong Kong Arts Centre in partnership with Lee Tung Avenue will present a pre-show fringe event – Human Beatbox and Full Service – Storytelling at Lee Tung Avenue.

Pre-show fringe event: Human Beatbox @ Lee Tung Avenue
The performing group Cie zeitSprung will compose a symphony with the passers-by along the Lee Tung Avenue. Imagine: you’re walking in the street and suddenly you’re surprised by a strange sound. Out of curiosity you stop and listen. Was it the sound of your own footsteps? Or maybe the sound of some kind of hammer? You realize you’re in the midst of a symphony of sound. The sounds amplify, progressively turning into a rhythm, a dance, and you finally give in to the desire to dance yourself.

Human Beatbox @ Lee Tung Avenue (*Free Admission)
Date & Time: 7/11 (TUE) 5-6pm
                      8/11 (WED) 1-2pm

Full Service – Storytelling @ Lee Tung Avenue (*Free Admission)
Date & Time: 11/11 (SAT) 1:30-2:30pm

Fantastic SWISSend @ Shouson Theatre, Hong Kong Arts Centre
The first programme is a dance piece of Komplizen RELOADED by Cie zeitSprung which is composed of dancers and musicians from Europe, Africa and Asia collaborating with one another, in an hour of engaging and fun provoking dance; it explores social affiliations and our need for security and support, the dancers embody our struggle to survive within a community. A performance tinged with love, humour and as life plays tricks on us, with a few surprising twists.

Another theatre production of Fight! Palast by Peng! Palast, inspired by the novel Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk; the ensemble takes us to a journey to construct a Fight! Palast (Palace) together, where its own fighting arena lives out suppressed desires, only to get knocked out by its own utopias. A theatrical inquisitive quest for a better self; muscle up and be the founding members of fight club!

Free Programme: Full Service by Daniel Hellmann
A one-to-one intimate free performance pop up in Atrium of the Hong Kong Arts Centre. Daniel Hellmann will provide any service that public might wish for as long as performer and the participant manage to agree on the conditions and the price.
