Roots: Jorge Mayet Solo Exhibition Roots: Jorge Mayet Solo Exhibition 4 & 5/F Pao Galleries, Hong Kong Arts Centre (Exhibition Period: FROM TODAY 14 - 20 May 2012) Jorge Mayet is a Cuban immigrant now living and working in Spain. The sculptures or paintings of Mayet are largely influenced by his immigrant experience of loss, hope, recovery, and guilt. His uprooted tree installations, with roots prominently hanging and floating in the void, connote an uprooted human being.
