Programme Manager/Assistant Programme Manager (Visual Arts) (Ref: PM/APM-VR)


Job Duties

  • Report to Senior Programme Manager
  • To be responsible for the planning and implementation of exhibitions and visual arts programmes of Hong Kong Arts Centre.
  • To identify and prepare proposals in seeking grants and sponsorship for the major exhibitions and/or projects.
  • To coordinate with external business parties including government bodies and other art affiliates.
  • To be responsible for administrative and managerial work, project and production management, and work with other departments for marketing and educational plans for the visual arts programmes.
  • To develop the network and constructive relationship with local and overseas practitioners through various channels.
  • To manage the designated programmes in such a manner that helps to enhance arts appreciation and to strengthen the audience base for Hong Kong Arts Centre.

Requirements

  • Degree holder in relevant disciplines with at least 5 years (assistant manager) / 7 years (manager) of working experience in arts-related organisations, at least half of which should have been at a senior level.
  • With international connection/exposure is preferable.
  • Have experience on curatorship or have curated visual art exhibitions.
  • Good interpersonal skills, well-organised and able to work independently and with people.
  • Must have good leadership skills and good planning and organisation skills.
  • Must have a detailed knowledge of the visual arts in Hong Kong and Asia, and the ability to identify arts needs in the community.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in both Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) and English.
  • Proficient in using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Finance Manager


Job Duties

  • Manage the financial planning processes including annual budget setting, monthly rolling forecasts and projected cash flows, short and long term budget plans, budget monitoring and management.
  • Prepare and update monthly management reports with high degree of accuracy and on time.
  • Perform accurate and timely operational and costing analysis.
  • Manage funding projects, prepare financial reports and perform project audit.
  • Assist in preparing meeting paper and ad-hoc reports to Board and Committees.

Requirements

Requirements

  • University degree holders preferably relevant to creative media, film and media arts, cultural studies, comparative literature, marketing and communication.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in film festivals, exhibition or event management.
  • Possess strong commitment to team dynamics with the ability to contribute expertise.
  • Strong passion and knowledge in film, animation and/or media arts is a must.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in both Chinese and English. Native Cantonese speaking is a must.
  • Detail-minded, flexible, able to work with multiple projects concurrently and within agreed deadlines.
  • Strong event management skills, problem solving skills, well-organised and able to prioritise and operate proactively.
  • Creative, dynamic, flexible and self-motivated with excellent project management skills and strong ability to work under pressure and multi-task.

Assistant Manager, Theatre Technical (Ref:AMTT)


Job Duties

  • Perform all aspects of stage and event operations in stage, cinema and multi-purpose areas with a view of ensuring the set-up, rigging, rehearsal, performance and strike-out are carried out smoothly and safely.
  • Liaise with hirers/users regarding services and facilities support required according to the hiring schedule.
  • Provide professional technical services and support to hirers/users in the setting up and operation of the audio, lighting, theatrical & stage systems/equipment.
  • Participate in supervising the teams and delivering staff training to ensure the up-to-date theatre technology and industry best practice is being enforced.
  • Assist in monitoring freelancer and supervise the progress of setup and dismantling of the events if needed.
  • Provide the technical and operational support to stage, theatre performance and cinema operations to be held at HKAC and ensure all technical requirements are fulfilled in a safe and professional manner.
  • Plan and execute the maintenance plan of all in house audio, lighting, theatrical & stage systems/equipment to ensure the equipment can meet the safely standard and regulations.
  • Required to work on Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday and on shift duty and irregular hours.

Requirements

  • 5 years or above relevant experience in technical and productions support for theatre, cinema operations and stage operations.
  • Experience in sizable performing arts venues or companies at supervisory level will be an added advantage.
  • Independent and highly-organized.
  • Able to guide and lead the technicians and freelancer.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Experience in AutoCAD drawing is preferred.
  • Good English and Cantonese.

Job Duties

  • Manage all aspects of the IT infrastructure including hardware, software, networks and systems for both Hong Kong Arts Centre and Hong Kong Art School.
  • Provide technical support services and troubleshooting for hardware, software and network issues.
  • Responsible for the operations and services in IT system and network infrastructure, IT security, email, assets management and other related areas.

Job Duties

  • Work closely with Development Committee, Friends Committee HKAC and HKAS teams to develop and grow HKAC membership programme.

Job Duties

  • Provide ushering and front of house service in theatres, assist in house rules and regulations enforcement

Internship Programme

Over the years, Hong Kong Arts Centre has offered opportunities to local and overseas university students to gain an exciting and fulfilling experience through our internship and volunteer schemes. Our internship programme provides an excellent opportunity for their students to explore their potential through hands-on work experience, gaining exposure to the different aspects in the operation of the Hong Kong Arts Centre. Are you art lovers? Do you have time to spare? Join the Hong Kong Arts Centre as a volunteer! Our volunteers come from a variety backgrounds, helping with events and programmes and providing administrative support to the Hong Kong Arts Centre. They are also trained to give docent tours. Volunteers can participate in various types of service, depending on their knowledge, interest and availability. No previous experience is required. Let us know your availability.

  • Aged 18 or above;
  • Holder of the Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card;
  • Fluent in at least one of the following languages: Cantonese, Mandarin, English; and
