【Hong Kong Arts Centre】 ifva X MTR West Island Line Short Films Show New Rail Line’s Close Community Connections
Talented Hong Kong directors explore the theme of “community” in a series of three short films launched today (18 September 2014) as part of a community outreach campaign for the West Island Line project.
The films are the result of collaboration between the MTR Corporation, the ifva greenlab of Hong Kong Arts Centre, and directors Ms Cheuk Wan-chi, Mr Chow Kwun Wai and Mr Nick Cheuk. Through the eyes of the directors, the films depict unique characteristics of Central and Western District and its close knit community as well as excitement about the new rail line.
In these films, various landmarks in the Central and Western District are captured. By using multiple perspectives and styles through the lens, these short films express the close connection between the people and the community.
The three short films can been seen on the MTR West Island Line project website www.mtr-westislandline.hk, theMTR Facebook fan page and MTR YouTube Channel starting from today. They will also be shown on screens in around 50 MTR stations as well as Ma On Shan Line, East Rail Line, West Rail Line and Kwun Tong Line trains from 19 September.
