Comix Home Base 1st Anniversary Programme - A Parallel Tale: Taipei in 80s X Hong Kong in 90s Exhibition

This summer, the CHB continues to present a series of events themed on animation and comics with wonderful content to integrate art into the community. 

A Parallel Tale: Taipei in 80s x Hong Kong in 90s
The project with exhibition and extended events is sponsored by the Create Hong Kong Office (CreateHK) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. After a strong debut at the “Hong Kong Week 2013 @ Taipei”, the exhibition returns to Hong Kong as a highlight of the CHB’s 1st Anniversary Programme. The exhibition will be held until 31 August, featuring 10 comics artists from Hong Kong and Taiwan, including Fung Chi-ming, Ho Ka-fai, Seeman Ho, Li Chi-tak, Justin Wong from Hong Kong ; and 61Chi, Sean Chuang, Amin Lee, Push Comic (Ah Tui), Ahn Zhe (Tu Tse-Wei) from Taiwan. The exhibition takes everyone to review the Hong Kong and Taiwan comics in the sweet, old past in the 1980s and 90s. 

A series of extended events will also be taken place during the exhibition period. These events, including live drawing demonstrations and sharing sessions, aim to offer the general public valuable insights into the comics and publishing industry both in the past and at present, as well as the startling artistic ability and creative talent of the artists from Hong Kong and Taiwan.

More Fun and Interesting Comics Related Activities

- “CHB x Comix Bubbles x 1st Anniversary” photo competition.
From now to 22 August, you can stand a chance to win the “Comix Bubble” figure designed by well-known local illustrator, Siu Hak, through participating in the “CHB x Comix Bubbles x 1st Anniversary” photo competition. 

- Comics Fun-Day
A fun day that engages the Wanchai community to appreciate animation and comics arts. Designated for teenagers, Comics Talk Series by Emerging local Artists aims to teach and lead youngsters on comics production with the unique, historical twist of Wancahai district. There will be two sharing sessions, Talks for Community, for the public to discover the urban myths in Wanchai. The public can also exchange their collections with others through the Comics Book Crossing Campaign.

Besides, there will be a series of extended activities and events bringing to the Hong Kong citizens and oversea visitors a marvelous experience in the summer. The activities and events include Comics street Music Concert@POS, CHB, Animated Movie Talk and Workshop Series, COSPLAY Special Shooting Day, Comics Talks, six designated screenings from Outdoor Projection: International Animated Shorts and Comics Critique Workshops Series .
