MTR•Tiara Sculpture Competition-Calling for Entry Now

To put sculpture into the limelight and nurture young sculptural artists, Public Art Hong Kong, Hong Kong Arts Centre and MTR Property (Shenzhen) are presenting “Tiara Sculpture Competition”, to offer an opportunity for emerging sculptural artists to train their skills and shine on stage. Participants can submit their proposals by PowerPoint presentation, and our Judging Panel will select nine winners by going through initial and second review. Grand Prize winner will receive HK$100,000 as capital for future artwork creation. The nine winners' works will be developed into prototype and shown in exhibition, and finally produced as actual sculptural artwork and displayed in the first housing estate project of MTR Property (Shenzhen) – MTR•Tiara.

The signing ceremony was held on 29th September at the InterContinental Hotel Shenzhen. The Honorary President of Hong Kong Arts Centre and the Chairman of the Arts Programs Committee, the Artistic Director of the Hong Kong Public Art and the Chairman of the Board of Councillors, Ms. Cissy Pao Pui-lai, BBS, Governor of Longhua New District Administrative Committee, Director of Hong Kong & Macao Affairs Office of Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government Foreign Affairs Office of Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government, Mr. Jiang Likunwere invited to attend the ceremony. Victor H.F. Chan and Felix P. K. Leung who represented MTR Corporation Limited also attended the signing ceremony.


MTR•Tiara Sculpture Competition offers an opportunity for sculptors to realize their ideas step by step. Two famous sculptural artists and representatives of the Organizer and Artistic Partners will form the Judging Panel. The Panel will provide advices during the initial and second review to assist participants to improve their works. The Hong Kong Arts Centre will provide technical support to the winners during prototype production process and help build their artist portfolio.
