Samues Leung — Love and the Fragility of Promises

Conceptual artist Samues Leung explores the impermanence of love through the familiar symbol of lovers' locks. Inspired by couples attaching metal locks to bridges as promises of commitment, Leung combines old iron locks with delicate copper wire to reflect the contrast between the apparent permanence of a promise and the fragility of human relationships. His work asks what happens to love, memory and commitment as time passes.

“Although the physical iron lock itself is extremely hard, the expectations of lovers may quietly fade over time, and promises may be forgotten in the past.”

Kate Padget-Koh — Love, Memory and Transformation

For British-born, Hong Kong-based artist Kate Padget-Koh, love is deeply personal, shaped by experiences of cultural connection, faith, grief and creativity. Her paintings bring together spiritual figures from different belief systems alongside words and images that record the people, cultures and memories that matter to her. The exhibition is dedicated to her dog Lotus, who accompanied her through a difficult yet creatively transformative period, adding an intimate personal dimension to her work.

“It’s dedicated to my dog Lotus, who was with me during a time that felt very dark, but was actually very creative.”

Daisy Chan — Love, Connection and Constraint

Artist Daisy Chan draws on symbolism to examine the complexities of modern intimacy. Her works bring together the water, butterfly and vortex — symbols of flexibility, adaptability, emotional pull and transformation — alongside the imagery of a net, representing the social ties that connect us but can also constrain us.

"In this exhibition, I explore the boundless possibilities of creation in the AI era. My intention is to approach artificial intelligence not as a replacement for human creativity, but as a powerful new tool and collaborator. Through this new series of work, I examine how technology can expand the horizons of imagination while remaining deeply anchored in human emotion, intent, and artistic intuition."

Together, the three artists offer different perspectives on what it means to love authentically — from social expectations and personal identity to memory, faith and the promises we make to one another. Authenticity · Love leaves the answer open, inviting audiences to pause, reflect and consider what genuine love means to them.
