Hong Kong Arts Centre presents: Art for Tomorrow
Hong Kong Arts Centre (HKAC) highlights ‘Arts at the Centre’ and continues to promote internationally the development of Asian contemporary arts as well as the local art scene. To create new values and interpretations for the existing heritage and contemporary art, HKAC presents ‘Art for Tomorrow’, introducing two unique artist support schemes.
In 2018, the ‘Jockey Club ICH+ Innovative Heritage Education Programme’ was initiated with an aim to preserve, promote, redefine and revitalise the ICH of Hong Kong by means of a holistic model that integrates ‘Education’, ‘Revitalisaion and Investigation’ as well as ‘Curatorship and Audience-building’. By coining the title ‘ICH+’, HKAC attempts to rebrand the ICH items in contemporary concepts. The plus sign (“+”) implies the infinite possibilities of the evolvement of contemporary ICH.
About ICH+
‘Creators for Tomorrow Scheme’ (Open Call) was launched by the HKAC in 2020, with an aim to encourage and support Hong Kong emerging artists and curators to launch their professional career in arts and gain practical experiences by being actively involved in programme planning, creation, and execution. Exhibitions under this scheme take place at the Diana Cheung Experimental Gallery, 3/F of HKAC.
The four selected artists and groups of the first round open call were: TANG Kwong San and YUEN Nga Chi (themed group exhibition), LAU Hong Lam (solo exhibition), Connie LO Ho Yee (solo exhibition), and EPICAL CHAMBER (themed group exhibition).
