With the 6th round of the Urban Renewal Heritage Preservation and District Revitalisation Funding Scheme granted from the Urban Renewal Fund (URF), the Public Art Department at the Hong Kong Arts Centre (HKAC) presents the 'RE: Tai Kok Tsui' public art and community art project.

Tai Kok Tsui is the quintessential Hong Kong community that blends old traditions with new happenings. Over the decades, neighbours have come together to create a vibrant and decent living environment, fostering a sense of community and sharing collective experiences.

RE: Tai Kok Tsui encourages neighbours to make a slight turn and reimagine a new vision for an old district that embraces the curation of new living experiences. It provides an avenue for turning the past into a future that values sustainability, art, culture, and creativity.

This forum brings together a vibrant mix of voices—from artists and architects to policymakers and community leaders—to explore how creative interventions can drive systemic change, foster deeper civic engagement, and reimagine urban spaces. Through the perspective of artful urban renewal and community-driven co-creation, participants will discuss collaborative strategies to shape the cities of tomorrow.

RE: Tai Kok Tsui Community Festival

Held across the Pavilion main site and multiple satellite locations on 6 September 2025, this full-day festival weaves together diverse arts experiences and participatory programmes. Highlights include guided art tours, a pop-up playground that transforms ordinary spaces into imaginative play stations, and a variety of themed workshops ranging from blueprint art and iron craft to picture books and ecological painting. Each activity is designed to nurture connections among participants, spark artistic exploration, and celebrate the evolving stories of the neighbourhood.
